Answer Key

Q1. Answer: b) 50 sq cm

Area of trapezium = 1/2 times (8 + 12) times 5 = 1/2 times 20 times 5 = 50 sq cm

Q2. Answer: c) 64 cubic cm

Volume of cube = side cubed = 4 times 4 times 4 = 64 cubic cm

Q3. Answer: b) 440 sq cm

Lateral surface area = 2 times pi times r times h = 2 times 22/7 times 7 times 10 = 440 sq cm

Q4. Answer: c) 40 sq cm

Area of rhombus = 1/2 times d1 times d2 = 1/2 times 10 times 8 = 40 sq cm

Q5. Answer: b) 62 sq cm

Total surface area = 2 times (lb + bh + lh) = 2 times (15 + 6 + 10) = 2 times 31 = 62 sq cm

Q6. Answer: height

Q7. Answer: height (h)

Q8. Answer: 4

Q9. Answer: length and breadth (l + b)

Q10. Answer: 500 sq m

Area = 1/2 times 40 times 25 = 500 sq m

Q11. Area of quadrilateral = 1/2 times diagonal times sum of perpendiculars

= 1/2 times 20 times (8 + 5)

= 1/2 times 20 times 13

= 130 sq cm

Q12. Volume = length times breadth times depth

1800 = 15 times 12 times depth

1800 = 180 times depth

Depth = 1800 divided by 180 = 10 m

Q13. Radius = 28 cm = 0.28 m, Height = 4 m

Curved surface area = 2 times pi times r times h

= 2 times 22/7 times 0.28 times 4

= 7.04 sq m

Cost = 7.04 times 8 = Rs 56.32

Q14. Volume = length times breadth times height

756 = 12 times 7 times height

756 = 84 times height

Height = 756 divided by 84 = 9 cm

Q15. Area = 1/2 times (a + b) times h

480 = 1/2 times (20 + b) times 15

480 = 7.5 times (20 + b)

20 + b = 64

b = 44 m
